This is an antique coal purdonium. A Scottish, oak fireside fuel store with Gothic Revival taste, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870. A wonderfully practical hearth companion displaying distinguished regional craftsmanship.


Select oak stocks with fine grain interest and attractive medullary ray figuring
Warm caramel hues complemented by golden bronze fittings
Tactile rolled carry handle sits prominently atop the lid for easy positioning
Lid decorated with a square frieze panel, enhanced with a quartet of brass corner mounts
