This is an antique handmade spice pot. An Oriental, carved bamboo treen, dating to the early Art Deco, circa 1925.


Enthusiastically carved detail within a broad bamboo trunk
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
Bamboo shows appealing grain interest and rich caramel hues
Ideal for spice or general kitchen use with a securely fitting lid


Eye-catching lid edge presents a relief carved leaf pattern
Trio of figures adorn the top of the lid, with circular motif to the circumference
Large birds of paradise within oval medallions adorn the front and rear fascia
Striking alternate panels with figural court scenes, ahead of copious leaf detail
