This is a pair of prehistoric large volume book ends. An African, petrified wood book rest, dating to thousands of years back and repurposed in the late 20th century.


Fascinating specimens with a superb geological interest
Displaying a desirable aged patina, time-worn commensurate with great age
Superb colour to the strata with orange and grey tones
Such colours influenced by the presence of iron oxides and carbon


Of fine proportion, useful for holding large volumes securely
Dressed with leather protective coverings to two sides, allowing dual orientation
