This is a vintage Art Deco blanket chest. An Oriental, camphorwood linen trunk, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930.

Exceptional carved scenes accentuate this generous chest
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select camphorwood presents warm caramel hues throughout
Pleasingly clean interior, being ideal for contemporary use

Profuse figural carvings adorn each fascia with captivating aplomb
Flowerhead pattern relief used as delightful decorative borders
Stout lid held securely with a scallop shell clasp, with an ebonised pin lock

Lid opens to a natural finish camphor interior of generous proportion
Raises upon a pair of brass hinged arms, and remaining securely in place
Figural scenes to each end host recessed carry handles, skilfully disguised within the relief
The whole standing upon ogee shallow bracket feet at each corner
