Hailing from a classical villa in Florence, this armoire is painted in a lovely shade of pale but bright green with floral decorations, very recognisable as Florentine. Silver gilt crest and highlights of gold paint in the door sections. Original metalwork and working key. The wardrobe comes apart for transporting and is easy to put together, held in place by grown-on wooden pegs, and only two screws at the back. Inside has been lined with an old green and white paper which you could strip back but adds to its charm.
