Antique Asian Harvest Basket
A beautiful antique Chinese woven harvesting basket traditionally used in China for carrying fruit and vegetables, rice and grain during harvest season. The basket has been intricately woven from read and has a bentwood handle with hand forged iron reinforcing support to fix it in place.
Basket making is an ancient craft and the basket on its own is a beautiful work of art but it could be used in the garden for holding picked flowers, veg, or inside to display flowers, or to store toiletries in a bathroom.
Circa: Early 1900s
Workshop Report: Overall vintage condition, minor wear to the read in places.
As with all our products, this product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.
