Antique French Plumbers Toolbox Bag

A fabulous original French metal plumbers tool bag with canvas strap dating from the 1940s-50s. These bags are characterised by their durable zinc construction and this toolbox has a lovely copper clasp in the middle of the bag. The bags were often called “sac de plombier” or “sac à outils” in French, were designed to carry heavy tools.
Zinc was commonly used for roofing and plumbing in France, making it a natural choice for a plumber’s bag.

Today these bags add rustic charm to an interior or shop or can be used practically for storing items in the home or workshop.
