A fantastic collection of wooden Indian clubs or meels which date from the early 20th century. Each have their own lovely aged patina from former use.
Indian clubs are a type of exercise equipment used for developing strength and flexibility training. They are typically made of wood and have a shape similar to a bowling pin, but they are not used for bowling. The clubs were swung in certain patterns as part of an exercise program and were popular in the late 19th and early 20th century.
They are beautiful on their own as a decorative feature in a home, gym or shop, or as an antique sporting collectable or prop.
Dimensions:
The clubs vary in length from 37-50cm and base width of 5-7cm.
Circa: Early 20th century
Workshop Report: The clubs are structurally sound with some wear in places- see photos.
As with all our products, this product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.
