Original Kaiser Idell Super Scissor Wall Lamp – Model 6614


An original black 1950s Kaiser Idell Model 6614 super scissor lamp designed by renowned designer Christian Dell. These lamps were typically used in the eastern bloc in factories, fixed to the wall over machinery or work stations so could easily be pulled into the desired position.
The lamp is super versatile extending inwards and outwards from the wall on the scissor mechanism, moving left to right and up and down at the wall fixing and a flexible ball joint on its original iconic embossed shade with “ORIGINAL KAISER-idell.” stamped into the top.


Kaiser Idell is one of the most iconic names in Bauhaus lighting design. The brand was developed by Christian Dell, a German silversmith and industrial designer, who played a key role in shaping Bauhaus aesthetics. The name “Idell” is derived from Dell’s surname and the word ‘idea.’ The lamps, produced by Gebrüder Kaiser & Co., became famous for their sleek, functional, and high-quality craftsmanship.

Workshop Report: This lamp is in its original condition, lightly cleaned and waxed. There is some paint wear in places and some minor paint splatter particularly on the shade, The Lamp retains its original black paint. It has been rewired with twisted brown flex and a CE certified E27 screw bulbholder, inline on/off switch and 3 pin UK Plug. Lamp has been PAT tested.


As with all our products, This product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.
