Vintage French Champagne and Wine Riddling Rack

An original French champagne riddling rack, double-sided and able to hold up to 120 bottles. The rack is constructed from solid oak.

Riddling racks were developed by Madame Clicquot of the Veuve Clicquot Champagne house in the early 1800s, they are a way to hold bottles of wine during the process of making sparkling wine in the méthode traditionelle. This one is from the Moet and Chandon Vineyard.

Depth: 6cm (of wood)

Circa: 1950s

Workshop Report: Overall rustic condition, structurally sound a few signs of historic worm which has been treated, Some wear to the inside lower support on one side – see photo.
As with all our products, this product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.
