Item Details

1940's Rich Oak Bentwood Armchair. At the beginning of the 20th Century there were two (amongst others) competing bentwood producers, J&J Kohn and Mundus. Both produced chairs in various factories throughout the Austro Hungarian empire. Undoubtedly due to a combination of commercial pressure from the market leading producer Thonet and the political upheaval of the time, the firms merged in 1914. This chair was made by Kohn and dates from the 1940’s, a very classic elegant shape with a rich colour and character retaining it's original rich colour and character. We service and wax each chair before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality.
