https://www.thehoarde.com/dealers/merchant-found1950's French Farmhouse Dining Chairs With Stamped Numbers. Made by Luterma, the process of steam bending beech to create elegant chairs was discovered and developed first by Thonet, but when its patents expired in 1869 many companies including Luterma launched production. Luterma was one of the brands marketed by Estonian factory A.M. Luther which was founded in the late 19th Century in Tallinn. Luterma production was principally in Estonia but they also had factories in France for local market production. At the time of the Bauhaus movement Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer worked with the factory to develop various models. These chairs date from the 1950s, a simple classic farmhouse shape, with rich character and a warm honey oak colour. The chairs have the most beautiful radial seat patterns. We service and rejuvenate each chair before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality.
Seat Height: 48cm
