1930’s Original Forge de Strasbourg – Strafor – Green Five Door Locker. The Forge de Strasbourg was founded in the South East of France in 1919. They were one of the global pioneers of the manufacture of sheet metal furniture principally for industry, and undoubtedly recognisable by the signature rippled steel finish. In 1926 the company launched the brand ‘Strafor’ and moved into atelier furniture with more sophisticated and branded pieces. The early ‘pre Strafor’ pieces are recognisable by their utilitarian design and absence of branding. This five door is an exceptional piece. It was originally black but has since been painted green. The doors all open and shut well and the original latches all work. Internal dimensions Top Self 36W x 22H x 33L. Bottom 141H all CM.
