Item Description

1950’s Vintage Edwin Cinch set of four dining chairs with original painted finish and Rexine style upholstery. Edwin Cinch was best known for his role as one of two designers (the other was Herbert Cutler) commissioned in 1943 by the then Board of Trade to create a functional range of furniture given the significant raw material restrictions in the 1940’s. The scheme was known as the Utility Furniture Scheme. This set of chairs was designed by Cinch, and produced in cast aluminium in the early 1950’s. All furniture from the utility scheme was marked with the Utility logo CC41 and the number of the manufacturer, in this case 808. These chairs rarely come available and are definite future classics. We service and wax each chair individually before they leave our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. We specialise in high quality vintage dining chairs and have a large range. We only sell the very best chairs in great condition with rich colour and patina, please see the other dining chairs we have listed and please contact us for more details or advice. Seat Height 47cm. Workshop Report All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
