1950’s French Mustard Stella Armchairs – Pair.


Stella is a lesser known French chair manufacturer founded originally in 1912 as the Auriol company making wheelbarrows. In 1922 Léon Ruisseau used his technical knowledge to create a stronger chair using hidden bolts to strengthen the structure. The process made the construction stronger but also allowed him to manage his inventory better in component form. Based in Labruguière in the South of France Stella exists to this day. This listing is for a pair of stunning arms chairs by Stella. The chairs have the original makers labels, the original mustard paint and feature heavy weight solid beech backs, the chairs are in excellent original condition. Our workshop has checked the chairs, cleaned and waxed them ready for practical use.
