1960’s Large Mid Century Glass Fronted Cabinet – Up Zavody.


Superb practical piece of mid century storage by the Czech maker Up Zavody and designed by Frantisek Mezulanik. Czech was a large producer of high quality mid century furniture following the surge of modernism originated by the Bauhaus school. The left side of the cabinet features two small drawers (internal dimensions L33 x W38 x H8) above which sits a good sized cabinet with four shelves (Internal overall dimensions L40 x W35 x H75, the shelves are spaced 18cm apart). The main cabinet features a large glass fronted section with original sliding glass doors opening to reveal three shelves (L32 x W82 all spaced 24cm apart). The lower shelf is L32 x W82 x H24. The whole cabinet is beautifully made in a mix of Sapele timber with birch contrasting. The cabinet sits on a birch base. Our workshop has gently restored the cabinet so all drawers and doors run well and the cabinet is in exceptional original condition.
