This sublime landscape painting is titled ‘Por la Ribera’ (‘By the Shore’) by the artist, Benito Sanchez (born 1944). Sanchez is a Spanish painter known for his outstanding realist landscapes and still life masterpieces. The scene is bursting with a contagious stillness and serenity. Painting ‘en plein air’, the artist places us right within the scene with his skillful depiction of depth, and the glowing light reflecting off the scenery.
