A Japanese watercolour of a wading bird.


Simple, elegant subject with the Japanese symbols for 'Quiet, calm, still or tranquil' and 'lake' in the lower right corner.


The picture is framed with a glazed, ebonised frame, distressed in places. The picture framers' label from Geo. L. Brown, 13 Union Passage, Birmingham is still present on the reverse. Geo. L. Brown were located at this address from 1914-1923.
