This beautiful mid/late 19th century mahogany glove box is a refined example of Victorian craftsmanship, featuring an elegant fleur de lis carved motif to the lid corners and floral central panel. The mahogany has developed a rich, warm patina over more than 140 years, highlighting the natural grain and giving the box a distinguished, timeless appearance.


The hinged lid opens smoothly to reveal a velvet‑lined interior, ideal for storing gloves, jewellery, keepsakes, or small personal items. This box may have started out as a candle stick box and was later converted at the end of the 19th century into a glove box with the addition of the velvet lining. either way, it is a true masterpiece of quality mahogany which is very well carved.
