PAIR OF VINTAGE CHINOISERIE ARMCHAIRS


A stylish pair of chairs with ebonised carved faux bamboo frames and decorative pierced bracket supports.


Upholstered seats and backs, currently with an off-white/cream faux leather.


Probably dating from the mid 20th century period. Circa 1930s-1940s in date.


Very much in the Regency chinoiserie taste as well as taking influence from the designs of Thomas Chippendale.


The chairs are in good vintage condition. The frames feel solid and sturdy, there is wear commensurate with age throughout including some rubbing to the ebonised finish. The current upholstery has some wear including some small marks and a few small holes but nothing serious. They are perfectly usable as they are or could be reupholstered if so desired.


Approximate measurements each: 83cm high x 64cm deep x 59cm wide. The seat height is approximately 47cm.
