Item Description

Antique Victorian Embroidered Screen Fire Guard Provenance: By repute, ex Castle of Mey. The Castle of Mey was built by George, the 4th Earl of Caithness, for his second son William Sinclair. Antique from the Victorian period, built so wonderfully. This is a fine-looking piece, it is a large screen and should be considered for decorative use only. The authentic embroidered inset has been protected with glass so it is in original condition with a little fading due to the light. An original plush red velvet to the rear. Mounted within an older frame of pure indulgence. Some age and wear with missing elements to the gilt work. Additional dimensions information: Height - 920mm Width - 600mm
