A primitive Cypriot marriage chest, C1850.  Naively constructed and richly carved with flowers and linear markings to the exterior surface and the underside of the lid.  This rustic piece has a timeworn patina, which adds to its charm; however, it is sturdy to use as a piece of furniture.
