Style: A delightful and perfectly formed small Arts and Crafts wall shelf, expertly crafted in oak with leaf design fretwork. This three-tiered piece features desirable carved scalloped shaped edging and displays a beautiful, rich golden patina. Can be hung on the wall or placed on top of a piece of furniture. Circa 1920's.


Story: Wall shelves trace their origins to ancient times, beginning with rudimentary storage solutions like natural rock ledges and built-in niches used to hold tools and religious artifacts. The Arts and Crafts style largely defined the domestic interiors of Britain's middle and upper classes by the end of the 19th century. These homes, inspired by national and regional traditions, celebrated individual expression, simplicity, and authentic craftsmanship.
