Story: Prized for their light, informal elegance, Regency faux bamboo chairs were a fashionable choice in Britain from approximately 1800. Their popularity stemmed from the Prince Regent's fondness for Asian styles and John Nash's design for Brighton's Royal Pavilion. These distinctive chairs were crafted from wood, skilfully turned and painted to mimic real bamboo.
