Item Details

Style: This beautiful elegant 19th century French planter features fine wirework construction, with a later added interior wooden support for plant pots, upheld by a classic wrought iron tri-form base. Finished in pale grey, the piece shows characteristic wear indicative of age and outdoor exposure, including some expected damage to the delicate wire detailing. For indoor or outdoor use.

Story: French wirework jardinières were prominent decorative pieces, sought after for both homes and gardens. They flourished primarily throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, peaking during the Victorian era, a period defined by a profound cultural fascination with botany and the practice of indoor gardening.
