Style: Bring celestial drama to your walls with this magnificent rustic sunburst mirror. Expertly carved and finished in a moody Prussian blue with whispers of silver gilding. Its complex architectural form, featuring twelve elongated, stylised rays emanating from 32 shorter rays captures the essence of classic European maximalism. Possessing a distinct ecclesiastical charm, the piece is defined by its craftsmanship and delicate aged construction. There is minor, treated traces of woodworm visible on the rear of the mirror frame. Has a simple brass hook for hanging. Originally, it was larger, with spaces where the other rays
had been.


Story: Originating in 17th-century Europe, wooden sunburst mirrors blend religious symbolism with royal flair. They became iconic thanks to France’s "Sun King," Louis XIV, who prominently displayed the mirrors in his chambers to position himself at the center of the sun’s rays.
