Item Details

Style: Drawing rich inspiration from French Rococo and Baroque traditions, these large, exquisitely detailed wall sconces make a striking statement. The primary body is crafted from a lightweight, gilded composite resin and showcases an abundant basket of fruit and upward-reaching acanthus leaves, culminating in a prominent open ribbon loop and bow at the apex. Sprouting from the fruit basket are three scrolled, gilt-metal candle arms, each lavishly enveloped in cascading acanthus foliage. Circa 1960's-1970's. Rewired with dimmer capacity and pat tested. Lightweight for size and easy to mount. Structurally similar to Syroco designs.


Story: Syroco (Syracuse Ornamental Company) was a renowned American manufacturer celebrated for ornate home accessories, including wall plaques, mirrors, and vintage light fixtures or sconces. Early productions utilised a patented wood pulp composite pressed in metal molds, while the 1950s and 1960s marked a transition to molded plastics and rigid polymer resins often styled in metallic gold, or faux woodgrain.
