Style: A stylish trio of Neoclassical bas-relief medallions, featuring white bisque figures in high relief against a soft pale blue ground. Each roundel is encased in a plaster frame finished in a warm, burnished gold. The set illustrates three of the four "Seasons of Life": Spring (childhood), Summer (youth), and Autumn (manhood). While Winter (old age) is absent from this collection, these remaining pieces offer a sophisticated and classic touch of wall art. Wire loops to the back, but no makers marks, typical of mid century reproductions.

Story: The original large reliefs were created in 1836 by Danish-Icelandic sculptor Bertel Thorvalsden, who lived and worked in Rome. He specialised in severe, balanced compositions inspired by Greek and Roman Art. In 1843 porcelain factories secured rights to scale them down to unglazed 'bisque' souveniers. For over a century other studios across Europe replicated them.
