This unique pair features intricate hand-carved detailed backs with meaningful detail: from arrows of love and an Olympian torch to elegant fruit and leaf motifs. Tropical-leaf finials sit on fluted, oriental-style struts. Finished in a rich, time-worn palette of ochre, red, and burnished gold. The seats are well-padded and stripped back to hessian - ready for you to customise with the fabric of your choice.


Story: French 19th-century neoclassical side chairs transitioned from the austere, archaeological rigor of the Empire period toward the more fluid, eclectic sensibilities of the Second Empire. Defined by their selection of premium woods, intricate hand-carved classical motifs, and disciplined geometry.
