Style: These social realist works, executed in oil on paper, provide a candid look at the nature of manual labour. The expressionist style employs a restrained, earthy palette of browns, ochres, and cool greys to underscore the sombre reality of working class craftsmanship and daily toil. Unsigned. Circa 1940's - these were purchased with other pieces by the artist painted in 1948. Housed in oak frames of this period with glass.
