Story: Designed by Philip Webb around 1860, the iconic Morris & Co. Sussex chair was inspired by traditional, pre-industrial country seating. Featuring a distinctive turned frame and rush seat, it was a massive commercial success, produced from 1865 well into the 1920s. Today, this historical sensation remains a defining masterpiece of the Arts and Crafts movement.
