Style: Striking hand painted wooden Florentine box for stationery, cards or keepsakes (the internal deviders can be removed). Steeped in Florentine tradition, this wooden domed box glows with aged gilding, framed by shimmering seafoam green and gold panels, graceful scrollwork, and an smattering of delicate, hand-painted orange floral blossoms on the domed lid and front and side trim. Circa 1950's.

Story: Originating in Florence, Italy, the hand painted Florentine box is a masterclass in traditional craftsmanship. Made from wood and gesso, these treasured jewellery and keepsake boxes are renowned for their luminous gilt work, delicate scroll motifs, and richly coloured panels.
