Item Description
19th Century Indian Bird Box
A highly decorative example of a late 19th Century hand carved wooden Indian box. Covered in detailed motifs including birds, gods, and geometric floral detail. This box would have been used to keep valuable items in at one point, hence the lock. The insert section inside can be lifted to reveal a larger space underneath. An authentic example showing lots of natural age.
Size in inches: H 7” x W 16” x D 11”
Origin: North India
Material: Wood Completely solid in structure and form, A naturally aged object, worn across all its surfaces. The top section shows a crack however this its only superficial and not structural. There is also loss of wood to the a few of the corner sections as shown. An antique object that has stood the test of time, in overall presentable condition. Please take this into consideration when purchasing this. Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas in this piece, therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment.
