Early -20th Century Folk Art Handmade Bird Cage
We share what we love, and we love the sculptural form of this hand-crafted folk art French birdcage made from old cigar boxes. Refined carved detail including opening windows and metal wire caged sections. A highly decorative sculptural object that once would have been used for housing a bird. Some metal bars are missing which would have caged the bird more securely.
Size of inches: H 27” x W 14” x D 14”
Completely solid in structure and form, with natural wear and patination across all surfaces due to age and use. With a few losses wooden sections at the base, old wood worm holes that have been waxed and treated to preserve this object. In overall presentable condition.
