Item Description
Early 20th Century Burmese Hand Carved Chairs
An authentic hand carved pair of early 20th Century hardwood Burmese chairs. Both chairs have their original leather seats pads in place (these could be recovered to give a cleaner look). We have chosen to leave these chairs in an original untouched condition. Both chairs are covered in birds and floral design which is typical of the Burmese style of carving.
Size of inches approx.: H 35” x W 19” x D 17”
Completely solid in structure and form, these chairs are dated to the early part of the 20th Century and not as some which have been reproduced in the mid to late 20th Century. The chairs are not broken but one does have a light split in the back rest as shown to the left chair, this is a natural split and the chair is still firm nevertheless, the original leather removable hair filled seat cushions are worn, faded and torn in areas as shown also. The wooden surface is faded in sections as the photos aim to show.
The House of Antiques sells authentic decorative objects, we do not refurbish or repair items unless stated or unless completely necessary to the item’s stability or longevity. These objects are old so please expect wear and tear as some are over 100 years old and untouched in form.
