A rare 19th Century folk art painted on board coat of arms. With its original painted and decoupage frame depicting a several soldiers and which can only be described and farm workers. This painting is on pine board, with aged painted surface. Untouched in form and recently obtained from a ships master who retired 20 years ago in Cornwall UK. Size in inches: H 12” x W 15.5” x D 1” Completely solid in structure and form, showing natural wear and tear due to age. An item which is over 150 years old, so please expect age related wear. The decoupage and paint is firmly in place and not fragile. A rare survivor that has stood the test the time.
