19th Century French Paper Cut Out Diorama Scene
A quite exceptional example of a mid-19th Century French paper cut out diorama scene. Depicting a landscape with a well-dressed gentleman playing a harp to a group of pretty women. Detailed using feathers, linen, paper, small glass beads and gold metal objects. Housed in its original ebonised glass frame. Paper backs and hanging hook still in place. Quite simply a beautiful decorative object, with artistic appeal.
Size of inches approx.: H 18” x W 21” x D 3”
Completely solid in structure and form, there is some loss of detail to the inside of the display in the form of the lady to the right is missing the detail of her face. An aged item so please accept this in the condition and view all photos in detail. One of the side sections above the leg arch as shown has come away slightly from the wood side but is firmly in place.
