Item Description

19th Century matched pair of girandole mirrors We are proud to offer a matched pair of mid-19th Century girandole mirrors. Hand crafted with gesso over pine, original aged glass plates in place with matched putti either side of candelabra centre piece. Covered in giltwood ornate designs typical of this period, with winged cherub centrally positioned. Original crate backing boards still in place, with aged repairs across both examples however in overall good condition considering their age. Size in inches approx.: H 37” x W 25” x D 6.5” Period: 1850 Material: Gesso/ Pine Origin: Unknown Condition: Aged Completely solid in structure and form, please expect age related wear across all this item as the images aim to illustrate. Scuffs and light scratches as you would expect, with a deep natural patina across all its surface. The gesso has been repaired respectfully in place with some gilt touch up, both glass plates have the mercury split centrally as shown. Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas in this piece, therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment.
