A really good Frence sourced frame, sculpted in wood, with a red bole gesso molding, with a great patina, with the red bole underlay showing through the dull gold leaf. With lovely scrolled leaf detailing. A heavy frame, with some age related wear, as can be seen in corners and edging, but very inconsequential. It feature a small plaque with the name Aston Knight ( a frame used by artist Louis Aston Knight) Size 70 x 60cm. Interior view size. 54 x 44cm    For picture size 56 x 47.5cm.
