Item Details

A pair of large Italian polychrome and gilded wall brackets dating from the 18th Century. Hand carved in solid hardwood, most likely walnut. Brackets feature a distressed polychrome painted green and sepia brown with a golden gilt finish. The large pair of brackets could be used to support a shelf or console table, or simply displayed as a decorative piece in their own right.


Condition: Very good. General marks, nicks, wear, darkening to the surface, scattered losses to decoration revealing white gesso and bare wood in small areas. Please refer to photos for details of this.
