A large antique decorative cast faded gilt brass students / desk / work / table lamp, the pine cone finial atop a reeded stem and adjustable shade arm grounded by a leafy circular base with a tied laurel wreath perimeter. Early 20th century.
In excellent complete and working condition; the spring loaded rise and fall mechanism works well and securely allowing the arm to raise up and down and around the stem.
Rewired with 3.25m fabric flex, patinated brass safety-switched lampholder, a good quality inline switch. and traditional plug. Original gallery.
Matched with a rare model Holophane prismatic glass shade (note this is cross hatched to one side of the shade -quite possibly designed for a desk or wall lamp) which is included.
Dimensions in inches/cms;
22.25"/56.5cm tall.
5.5"/14cm base diameter.
Approx. 10.5"/27cm max width inc. shade.

Edward Haes has been dealing in architectural elements and antiques for the past 20 years, initially sourcing most of his stock from disused public buildings and demolition sites.  Some of his architectural pieces can be found on The Hoarde.

He enjoyed the social history of these places and wishes all his later purchases could have the same perfect provenance.

He continues to buy a diverse range of antiques, with a speciality in lighting, mainly from the UK and sells to dealers, commercial and private clients. He is happy to “tune in” to customers projects and help advise on selecting  the correct pieces.  You can also find some of Haes other items on the Decorative Collective website as well.

Viewings are welcome by appointment only.
