An antique 19th century large opaline glass oil lamp shade converted to a hanging pendant light.
Works well. Not the first time this has been done; please see the other set of 5 similar pendant shades which were bought from a church and had been hanging as electrified lights from the mid 20th century or earlier. Presumably they recycled their hanging oil lamps when the church received an electric supply.
Rewired with 1.5m fabric flex, new BC lampholders. Supplied with patinated hooked ceiling plate.
Chain (solid patinated brass chain shown in photos) can be supplied in any length if required. Could also be wire hung or hung with flex and cordgrip only.
Dimensions in inches/cm;
15"/38cm diameter.
9"/23cm tall.

  • H: 23cm (9.06in)
  • W: 38cm (14.96in)
  • D: 38cm (14.96in)

Edward Haes has been dealing in architectural elements and antiques for the past 20 years, initially sourcing most of his stock from disused public buildings and demolition sites.  Some of his architectural pieces can be found on The Hoarde.

He enjoyed the social history of these places and wishes all his later purchases could have the same perfect provenance.

He continues to buy a diverse range of antiques, with a speciality in lighting, mainly from the UK and sells to dealers, commercial and private clients. He is happy to “tune in” to customers projects and help advise on selecting  the correct pieces.  You can also find some of Haes other items on the Decorative Collective website as well.
