Item Description
This is an unused antique French hemp sheet which dates to the early 1900s. It was woven on a narrow 19th century loom and is joined at the centre by a hand stitched seam as was traditional.
It has simple machined hems and a monogram of the letters JD worked in red thread and set to one side of the seam. A traditional and charming piece of French textile history.
You have a good 100 years of life in this one, it has not been used and so has no thinning, damage or wear.
So useful to have in the cupboard - a great bed cover, tablecloth, sofa throw, curtain. A useful and characterful piece of French textile history.
