Item Description
A very heavy, French copper pan and cover. This has no handles so originally it was probably designed to sit into the top of a range cooker. It is well made, from an exceptionally heavy gauge of copper and it has wide, castellated seams around the base and up the side. It dates from c.1860. It would have been for cooking in but due to the lack of handles this would be quite impractical now. However, it would be ideal for use as a small bread bin. It is in excellent condition and the tinning, to the interior, is still good.
Dimensions: Length 31.5cm. Width 25cm. Depth of pan 19cm. Height to top of handle 24cm.
