Item Description
A miniature, 19th century, cast iron stove complete with a collection of 19th century miniature copperware. This is a charming lot and the stove is a particularly good, small example. It is marked, in the casting, “GODIN & CIE BTE S.G.D.G.” and it dates from c.1880. It is a fully working replica of a full size model and would have been used as a traveller’s or salesman’s sample. Godin are French manufacturers of quality stoves and this would have been patented in the 19th century. It is in excellent condition.
The accompanying copperware includes a stockpot, a kettle, a fish kettle, a cooking pot, a jug and a bucket. The dates of these pieces range from c.1870 to 1900 and they are all in very good condition.
