Item Description
A good quality pair of 19th century, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip candlesticks. These are marked ”WEDGWOOD” and they are also impressed with the letters “CHZ” which is the date code for the year 1871. There is a further impressed “E” which is possibly a workmans’ mark. Each candlestick is decorated, in white relief, with Apollo and one of the Muses standing between trees and foliage. The reliefs are all very good quality and the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue. Both candlesticks are in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 14.9cm. Diameter at the base 9.5cm. Diameter at the rim 5.5cm.
