Item Description
A set of eight Wedgwood, green majolica glazed leaf plates. These are marked “WEDGWOOD” and they are also impressed with a large letter “O”. One plate is also impressed with a three letter date code but the final letter, which denotes the year, is indistinguishable. They date from c.1870. Each plate is moulded in the shape of a cabbage leaf against a basket weave background and this is then covered in a dark green, majolica glaze. There is very minimal wear to the glaze on the high points of the design on some of the plates but otherwise they are all in very good condition.
The plate which has the additional mark is very slightly darker in colour.
Dimensions: Diameter 20cm. Depth 2.5cm.
