Item Description
A tiny, 19th century, wooden butter ejector print. Butter was put into the cup of this print and then pushed out to form a neat, circular pat of butter with a design to the top. This example is well carved with a shell. It is carved in boxwood and the wood has a rich patina. It dates from c.1840. There is a very tight crack in the cup but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Overall length 6.5cm. Diameter 3cm. It would turn out a pat of butter 2.6cm. diameter by 1.8cm. deep.
