Item Description
An eighteenth century Wedgwood, polished basalt seal impressed with the head of a young lady. This is unmarked and it dates from c.1775. During this period Wedgwood produced the finest quality seals and, if the basalt or jasperware were polished, as in this case, they were very rarely marked and this was thought to spoil the appearance. This seal is impressed with a very beautifully detailed head and it is superb quality as one would expect from a piece of this period. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 2.3cm. Width 1.9cm. Depth 2.8cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £10. Most of Western Europe add £5.
