Item Description
A Wedgwood, late creamware, dinner plate decorated with birds and insects. This is marked ”WEDGWOOD” and it is also impressed with the letters ”YTR”. This is the date code for the year of manufacture which is 1863. The plate is potted in a heavy creamware, which is known as late creamware, as the body is quite different to the early, lightly potted creamware of the 18th century. It is decorated with an outline transfer print in brown which is then hand coloured with bright, polychrome enamels. There is a very small chip to the ochre enamel on the rim but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Diameter 25.6cm. Depth 2.2cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
